About the project
The main aim of the project "Social inclusion through self-education and learning for migrants" was to establish cooperation between organisations in the participating countries (Belgium, Spain, Bulgaria and Greece) in order to meet the need to support migrants in the process of their inclusion in the EU, and to provide them with the information, training and knowledge needed to integrate into European economic and social life.

The main aim of the project was pursued through the following specific objectives:
- strengthened cooperation between organisations from different EU countries, to enable the exchange of practices;
- promotion of employment and vocational training, including early integration into the labour market and migrant entrepreneurship.
During the implementation period, 109 participants were involved, as follows:
- 72 representatives of stakeholders took part in the multiplier event;
- 17 trainers took part in the C1 short-term joint staff training activity;
- 20 users tested the online platform and mobile applications developed.
The following results were achieved during the project:
- interviews and meetings organised with organisations and institutions working with migrants in each partner country;
- a set of training materials developed on 10 topics: Country at a glance; Language; Governance system; Geographical and demographic information; Health, Labour and Education; Culture, Tradition and Dietary habits; Employment; Entrepreneurship; Migration policy; Services and Instructions. The materials were adapted to the Bulgarian, Greek, Spanish and Belgian context;
- an online training platform and website developed — www.platform.integritybg.com;
- additional training materials developed for entrepreneurship and employment, together with examples of job offers, CVs, covering letters and psychometric tests, uploaded to the platform;
- mobile applications developed for Android and iOS, containing all training topics, including the additional topics, plus a quiz that lets each user check how well they have understood the material;
- 3 in-person transnational project meetings and 1 online meeting organised;
- 1 online short-term learning activity organised: "Training for maintaining, managing and working with an online information platform";
- 1 online multiplier event organised on "How to improve the welcome and support of migrants in EU rural and urban areas?";
- project newsletters and a project leaflet developed and disseminated.

The online platform created for the project is a web-based information portal holding materials for training courses, where anyone interested can register and access the full set of trainings and materials, helping migrants through the process of social inclusion and the acquisition of new skills and knowledge.
The online learning platform provides users with the following:
- Language training, available for Bulgarian, Spanish, Greek and French;
- Cultural support training — how to adapt to the local environment;
- How to start a business — a start-up pack covering how to generate and develop a business idea, and how to register, start and run a company;
- Opportunities for requalification training;
- Important historical and geographical information about the region;
- Ways and tools to find a job in the local market;
- Local legislation;
- Health care services;
- A range of useful guidelines, manuals and documents for all interested parties (psychological support, mediation activities, and various good practices).
