ΕΛΚΥΣΤΙΚΗ ΠΟΛΗ: ΔΗΜΟΣ ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥΠΟΛΗΣ ΣΤΡΑΤΗΓΙΚΗ ΒΙΩΣΙΜΗΣ ΑΣΤΙΚΗΣ ΑΝΑΠΤΥΞΗΣ
L.L.L.C. M.E.K. S.A. implements the following projects as a contractor within the Operational Program "Eastern Macedonia and Thrace 2014-2020", in Priority Axis 4_Human Resources and Social Cohesion-ESF:
"Training of Employees for the Development of Tourism Consciousness" (OPS 5031784), Contracting Authority: Alexandroupolis Commercial Association
"Consulting, training, and certification of knowledge and skills of the unemployed in tourism" (OPS 5030838), Contracting Authority: Tourist Spa Company of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis SA
"Training and certification of knowledge and skills of employees in the tourism sector" (OPS 5031786), Contracting Authority: Tourist Spa Company of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis SA
The interventions are carried out in the framework of the approved Strategy for Sustainable Urban Development Project of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis with aim to:
enhance participants' knowledge and skills with certification and by acquiring new qualifications, and
the development of the tourist consciousness in order to improve the services to the visitors/tourists of the city of Alexandroupolis.
Through the implementation of consulting, training, and certification actions, all three projects hope to accomplish the following:
enhancing the adaptability of local human resources to new trends and prospects for the further development of tourism in the region,
to strengthen the image of the local business profile as the beneficiaries of the project can contribute to the provision of upgraded services during their employment in related jobs, but also
local economy's strengthening through increased tourism by creating a city that is friendly, hospitable, competitive, and innovative, established on the principle of non-discrimination based on "challenges" for the implementation of specific urban development strategies, distinguished by significant opportunities that can be exploited and maximised based on a comprehensive development plan.
INTERVENTION AREA
Alexandroupolis Sustainable Urban Development Strategy, which concerns the Municipality of Alexandroupolis, is defined as the intervention area of the three projects, as it has been foreseen as such in the Operational Program for the current programming period.
TARGET GROUP
The project "Training of Employees for The Development of Tourism Awareness" is addressed to 36 employees/self-employed in companies, members of the Commercial Association of the Municipality of Alexandroupolis.
The project "Counseling, training, and certification of knowledge and skills of the unemployed in tourism" is addressed to 25 unemployed people.
The project "Training and certification of knowledge and skills of employees in the tourism sector" is addressed to 40 employees in tourism companies in the intervention area.
